Hey Locals,

Downtown Fort Wayne has seen significant growth and investment during the past two decades. Now, the City wants to hear from you: Where do we go from here?

As Community Development Administrator/Senior Planner with the City, Sherese Fortriede summarizes the ask in a few questions:

  • What do you love about Downtown, and what don’t you love?
  • How easy is it for you to walk and bike around Downtown?
  • What should be a priority for future growth in the areas of housing, economic development, public spaces, arts and culture, transportation, historic preservation, and public safety?

“The planning team wants to hear it all!” she says. “We can’t stress enough how important it is for everyone to visit Engage Fort Wayne, and complete the survey! Once you take the survey, you can enter into a drawing to win a gift card to downtown businesses and restaurants.”

You can also share your thoughts in-person this weekend at the TinCaps game on Aug. 28, 7-9 p.m., or at Taste of the Arts on Aug. 29, 11-5 p.m. There are more public engagement opportunities planned for September, too.

So… how did we get here – to this point in Downtown development? What’s involved in the new survey? And what are some of the top points raised by residents so far?
